The Speak Mandarin Campaign Parent-Child Talent Competition is a nationwide competition that provides immersive opportunities for parents to bond and have fun with their children, while learning and speaking Mandarin. 

This year, the theme of the Competition is "Happy Family". The Preliminary Round took place on 31 March 2018 where each participating team presented a four-minute performance based on the theme. 

26 teams were shortlisted as Finalists and they will be vying for the Winner titles at the Grand Finals. Winners will be announced on the same day.

About the Competition

The Speak Mandarin Campaign Parent-Child Talent Competition is a nationwide competition that provides immersive opportunities for parents to bond and have fun with their children, while learning and speaking Mandarin.

This Competition was first launched in 2013 and this year marks its sixth edition. Parent(s) and child(ren) form teams to present a four-minute performance based on this year’s theme of “Happy Family”.

The competition is open to Singaporean and Permanent Resident families with children aged between five and 12 years of age. A new category for pre-school participants was launched in 2016, and the revised entry guidelines for the 2018 Competition now allows participation by up to four family members per team.

There are three categories for this competition.

Category Participating Criteria
A For participating teams with elder/eldest child in Kindergarten Level 1 or 2. 
B For participating teams with elder/eldest child in Primary 1 or 2.
C For participating teams with elder/eldest child in Primary 3 to 6.
