Public Talk 2016:我与于丹有约 - 从《字解人生》谈语言学习 公开讲座

A Public Lecture was held on 24 September 2016, at Chengyi Auditorium, Hwa Chong Institution by well-known culture scholar Professor Yu Dan. She provided insights on Chinese characters, beyond etymology to their cultural interpretations and shared tips on how to ignite students and children’s interest for the Chinese language by encouraging appreciation of the Chinese characters.

Professor Yu Dan

Professor Yu Dan is currently the Vice Dean of Beijing Normal University’s Art and Communication School. An influential culture scholar, Professor Yu has popularised classical culture and inspired greater interest in the study of classical texts through her lecture series on CCTV’s Lecture Room and Cultural Viewpoints.

This public talk is based on one of her many publications  “Yu Dan: Life through Chinese Characters”and seeks to provide parents and educators with inspirations for language teaching.
