A kind of dragon dance performance that glows in the dark.

由来

在1966年和1967年之间，已故的林明发与制龙师傅梁宣华钻研出夜光龙。
夜光龙必须涂上夜光漆，再由全身黑衣黑裤的舞者配合着舞步来控制。
1967年，公众第一次在繁华世界体育馆(Gay World Stadium)内观赏到夜光龙的表演。
从此之后，夜光龙扬名四海，从新加坡传到多个国家，如马来西亚、印度尼西亚、菲律宾、中国等。

ETYMOLOGY

This novel variation of the traditional dragon dance was created in 1966–67 by the late Lim Meng Huat and dragon dance prop maker Leong Shin Wah.
To create the glow-in-the-dark effect, the dragon is painted with luminous paint, then manoeuvred by dancers dressed completely in black.
The first luminous dragon dance performance took place in 1967 at Gay World Stadium.
Since then, the luminous dragon dance has become known far and wide, spreading from Singapore to many countries, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and China.
