ETYMOLOGY

Besides starting the engine, car keys are also used to open the doors and boot of a car.
For the sake of safety, the Singapore Police Force advises drivers to remove the car keys after parking their vehicle.
Many cars today are equipped with a push-button start system, so drivers no longer need to rely on car keys to start the engine.
