  • 陆路交通管理局(Land Transport Authority)于 2013 年在陆路交通发展总蓝图(Land Transport Master Plan)中推出“畅行乘车 计划”(Walk2Ride Programme)。这项计划的项目之一是兴建总长 200 公里的有盖走道,衔接交通枢纽,以方便乘客步行与乘搭公共交通。
  • 有盖走道的网络一般以地铁站为中心,链接 400 公尺内的学校、商业中心、医疗设施、组屋等。
  • 除了让行人避免日晒雨淋,有盖走道沿途也设置了休息处,方便行人休息。
  • 有盖走道也尽量采取单边支柱(single post)结构,以扩大行走空间。
ETYMOLOGY
  • In 2013, the Land Transport Authority rolled out the Walk2Ride Programme in the Land Transport Master Plan. One of the projects in this plan was to construct covered walkways which are connected to transport hubs and total 200 kilometres in length, enabling commuters to conveniently walk and take public transport.
  • A covered walkway network usually has a Mass Rapid Transit station as its centre and is connected to schools, commercial centres, healthcare facilities, and Housing and Development Board flats within 400 metres of the station.
  • Besides providing shelter from the elements, covered walkways are also built with rest areas along its path for pedestrians to take a break.
  • A covered walkway adopts a single post structure as much as possible to extend the walking space.
