由来
  • 日语 “一番”(ichiban)的音意兼译。
  • “一番” 是日语汉字词,原意是 “第一”、“最初”,后来衍生出 “最好”、“很好” 的意思。
  • 这个词最先在台湾使用,之后传入其他讲华语地区,遂为本地华语吸收,多带赞叹的语气。
ETYMOLOGY
  • It is a combination of a paraphrase and the transliteration of the Japanese term “一番” (ichiban).
  • Ichiban is a Japanese Kanji term that originally meant "first" or "initial", but later extended to mean “best” and “very good”.
  • This term was first used in Taiwan and subsequently spread to other Mandarin-speaking regions. It was assimilated into Singapore’s local Chinese vocabulary and is often used with a tone of admiration.
