  • 新加坡第一家霸级市场是来自法国的家乐福(Carrefour),1997年10月23日在新达城(Suntec City)开幕,占地面积达9万3108平方英尺,售卖的产品超过2万5000种。
  • 2000年,牛奶公司 (Dairy Farm) 旗下的巨人超市(Giant)在裕廊的IMM开设霸级市场,职总平价超级市场到了2006年也在宏茂桥开设霸级市场(Fairprice Xtra)。
ETYMOLOGY
  • Singapore’s first hypermarket was Carrefour from France. It officially opened on 23 October 1997 at Suntec City, occupying an area of 93,108 square feet and stocked over 25,000 different items.
  • In 2000, Dairy Farm’s subsidiary, Giant Supermarket opened its hypermarket at Jurong IMM Mall. FairPrice Xtra also opened a hypermarket in Ang Mo Kio in 2006.
