  • The Mandarin term “美禄恐龙” is a combination of the transliteration and a paraphrase of the English term “Milo dinosaur”.
  • The Mandarin term “美禄” is the transliteration of Milo, a beverage that contains malt, milk, and chocolate.
  • It is believed that Milo dinosaur was first created by a local Indian Muslim snack stall in the 1990s. Its name was inspired by the famous 1993 movie Jurassic Park.
  • To make a glass of Milo dinosaur, a cup of regular iced Milo is topped up with three to five tablespoons of Milo powder that forms a brown mound.
  • In addition to the more common Milo dinosaur, there are also other fancy Milo beverages like Milo godzilla and Milo king kong. The former is Milo Dinosaur with one scoop of ice cream on top, and the latter is with two scoops of ice cream on top.
