由来

新加拳的发明人是已故的赵春德师傅。
新加拳起源于1985年。由于当时新加坡武术教练学会(Singapore Martial Arts Instructors' Association)有许多派别，基于团结的精神，他们决定发明一种属于本地的新武术。最后，学会决定让赵师傅负责创造。
新加拳结合了新加坡武术教练学会中八位大师各自代表的武术招式。这八个招式是马来武术、跆拳道、空手道、北少林功夫、南少林功夫、柔道、合气道及印度棍术。
新加拳刚开班时，学员都来自不同的种族背景，学生人数也达到数千名。
如今，这门武术已逐渐没落，学员人数也减少许多。到了2017年，只剩下大约十人在练习新加拳。

ETYMOLOGY

Singa Fist was created in 1985 by the late martial artist Teo Choon Teck.
At that time, there were many factions in the Singapore Martial Arts Instructors’ Association. In the spirit of solidarity, some members decided to invent a new martial art unique to Singapore. The association appointed Teo to create it.
Singa Fist blends moves from eight martial arts represented in the Singapore Martial Arts Instructors’ Association: Silat, Taekwondo, Karate, Northern Shaolin Kungfu, Southern Shaolin Kungfu, Judo, Aikido and Silambam.
When Singa Fist was launched, it drew thousands of students from various ethnic backgrounds.
Subsequently, interest declined. By 2017, there were only about ten people still practising Singa Fist.
