  • 政府为将新加坡从 “花园城市” 打造成 “花园中的城市”，于 2005 年推出了滨海湾花园的构想。
  • 2007 年 11 月，滨海湾花园动工，整个园林由滨海南、滨海东、滨海中三个花园组成，占地 101 公顷。
  • 2012 年 6 月，滨海湾花园由总理李显龙主持开幕。
  • 滨海南花园含有两大玻璃温室，分别是 “花穹”（Flower Dome）和 “云雾林”（Cloud Forest），以及 18 棵 “擎天大树”（Supertrees）。“花穹” 模拟干冷气候，汇集世界各地的花卉植物，并举行不同主题的花卉展览。“云雾林” 高 35 米，模拟湿冷环境，种满葱郁植物。“擎天大树” 是由钢骨水泥构成的垂直花园。
  • 2014 年 1 月，滨海湾花园获得景点行业中最高荣誉之一的西娅奖（Thea Awards）。
  • 2014 年 9 月，“花穹” 以 “世界最大的玻璃温室” 创下了健力士世界纪录（Guinness World Record）。
  • 滨海湾花园的建设秉持着可持续发展的原则，确保能源和水资源都被妥善利用。两大玻璃温室使用高科技节能冷却系统，能降低 30% 的耗能，而温室的特殊玻璃既维持植物日照，但也能同时降低温度。
ETYMOLOGY
  • As part of the Government’s vision to transform Singapore from a “Garden City” to a “City in a Garden”, Gardens by the Bay was officially conceptualised in 2005. 
  • Gardens by the Bay’s construction works began in November 2007. The entire park comprises three gardens, namely Bay South, Bay East, and Bay Central, with an area spanning 101 hectares. 
  • Gardens by the Bay was was officially opened by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in June 2012.
  • Bay South is made up of two large glass conservatories, namely Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, and 18 Supertrees. Flower Dome simulates dry cold climate conditions, houses a wide flora collection from around the world, and holds various themed floral exhibitions. On the other hand, Cloud Forest, which is 35m in height, simulates humid cold climate conditions and houses a wide variety of lush vegetation. Lastly, the Supertrees are vertical gardens made of steel and concrete.
  • Gardens by the Bay was presented with the Thea Awards in January 2014, one of the most reputable awards in the themed entertainment sector.
  • In September 2014, Flower Dome set the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest glass greenhouse. 
  • The design and construction of Gardens by the Bay upholds the principles of sustainability and optimises the usage of energy and water resources. The two large glass greenhouses adopt high-tech energy-saving cooling systems which reduce energy consumption by 30%.  The unique glass panels of the greenhouses also allow sunshine to penetrate while reducing the inside temperature.
