由来

英语“headhunting”的意译，原指原始部落为了生存、扩张和祭祀等目的而砍去敌对部落人头的仪式。
猎人头主要是为了填补高薪要职的空缺，主动寻找有意跳槽的高层工作人士，意义上与挖角相同。
猎人头的行为于 1980 年代后期在新加坡出现，起初都由跨国商业集团进行，现今也有本地创立的猎人头公司。

ETYMOLOGY

The Mandarin term “猎人头” is a paraphrase of the English word “headhunting”, which originally referred to the ritualistic beheading of a rival tribe for survival, expansion, and sacrifice.
In modern parlance, headhunting is a proactive search to fill high-paying job vacancies, by sourcing for those in senior positions who intend to switch jobs. A similar term is “挖角”, which refers to "poaching".
In Singapore, the practice of headhunting started in the late 1980s and was initially carried out by multinational corporations. Today, there are also locally established headhunting firms.
