  • 马来文化馆的原址为建于 1840 年的苏丹皇宫（Istana）。
  • 2002 年，新加坡政府将甘榜格南皇宫与毗邻的出纳宫（Bendahara House）翻修，设立了马来文化馆（Malay Heritage Centre），交由马来传统文化基金会（Malay Heritage Foundation）管理。
  • 2005 年 6 月，总理李显龙为马来文化馆揭幕。
  • 2015 年，马来文化馆被列为新加坡的第 70 座国家古迹。
  • 马来文化馆旨在为各年龄段人士以及对历史文化感兴趣的游客，提供接触与学习马来文化的机会，充分发挥教育设施与旅游胜地的作用。

ETYMOLOGY
  • The original site of the Malay Heritage Centre was the Istana Kampong Glam, which was built in 1840.
  • In 2002, the Singapore Government renovated Istana Kampong Glam and the adjacent Bendahara House to establish the Malay Heritage Centre, which is managed by the Malay Heritage Foundation.
  • In June 2005, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong officially opened the Malay Heritage Centre.
  • In 2015, the Malay Heritage Centre was gazetted as the 70th National Monument in Singapore.
  • The Malay Heritage Centre aims to provide opportunities for people of all ages and tourists interested in history and culture to access and learn about Malay culture. It functions both as an educational facility and a tourist attraction.
  • The Malay Heritage Centre has six permanent exhibition halls that preserve and display Malay Singaporeans’ cultural heritage through historical relics, artworks, and multimedia and three-dimensional exhibits. It demonstrates the Malay community’s contribution in the history of Singapore and Kampong Glam’s important role in Singapore’s prosperity and development.
