南洋初级学院(Nanyang Junior College)的别称。

DEFINITION

Noun

An alternative name for Nanyang Junior College.

ETYMOLOGY
  • Nanyang Junior College (NYJC), founded in 1978, is currently located at Serangoon Avenue 3.
  • As the NYJC campus was built on a small hill and was often covered in fog in the 1980s and 1990s, NYJC was also known as “白云” (meaning “white cloud hill”).
  • At the start of 1978, as the construction of the campus was still ongoing, the first batch of about 600 NYJC students attended classes at the then Westlake Secondary School campus in the interim period. In November 1978, after the campus buildings and facilities were completed, the school’s staff and students moved to the new campus.
