ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “半独立式洋房” is a paraphrase of the English term “semi-detached house”.
  • In Singapore, a semi-detached house has a land area of at least 200 square metres, and shares a common wall with the house adjacent to it either side-to-side or back-to-back.

在新加坡,半独立式洋房属于私人住宅。新加坡公民如果拥有政府组屋(Housing & Development Board, HDB flat)、私人组屋(Design, Build and Sell Scheme, DBSS)或执行共管公寓(Executive Condominium, EC),需要符合五年的最低居住年限(min imum occupation period),才可购买私人住宅。非公民则需要得到新加坡土地管理局(Singapore Land Authority,简称“土管局”)的批准才可购买。

In Singapore, semi-detached houses are private residences. Citizens who own Housing & Development Board (HDB) flats, Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) flats, or Executive Condominiums (EC) need to meet a minimum occupation period of five years before they can buy a private residence. Non-citizens need to obtain approval from the Singapore Land Authority to purchase a property.
