  • 英语 “Speak Good English Movement” 的意译。
  • 此运动由前总理吴作栋于 2000 年 4 月 29 日主持开幕，标语为 “好英语，利沟通”（Speak Good English，Be Understood）。
  • 虽然讲标准英语运动认同新加坡式英语（Singlish）作为新加坡人文化的一部分，但运动的目的是为了提升年轻一代国人使用标准英语的能力，使他们能够使用各国人都听得懂的英语，与世界沟通。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “讲标准英语运动” is a paraphrase of the English term “Speak Good English Movement”.
  • Former Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong launched the Movement on 29 April 2000 with the slogan “Speak Good English, Be Understood”.
  • Although the Speak Good English Movement recognises Singlish as a part of Singaporean culture, its purpose is to increase the proficiency of Standard English among the younger generation, preparing them for effective communication in English with the rest of the world.
