ETYMOLOGY
  • The term “入禀” is also used in Hong Kong, and has the meaning of filing a lawsuit.
  • In 2000, Singapore introduced the Electronic Filing System, which enables court documents to be prepared and filed electronically, changing the way civil litigation is conducted.

SAMPLE SENTENCE
The couple who ran the printing company passed away one after the other. Their son claimed that his sister embezzled part of the inheritance and filed a lawsuit in the High Court to recover it. However, the judge pointed out that the son was aware of the contents of the will, and since he did not object to it at the time and did not question it for the past 25 years, his application was dismissed.
