由来
  • 在新加坡，电动人行道多用于机场、地铁站等旅客或人流量大的场所。
  • 电动人行道是由美国建筑学家约瑟夫•莱曼•席尔斯比（Joseph Lyman Silsbee）为美国于1893年举办的芝加哥世界哥伦布博览会（World's Columbian Exposition）而发明的。它的功用是让行人可以轻松穿梭于会场中的各个景点。
ETYMOLOGY
  • In Singapore, travelators are frequently installed in airports, MRT stations and other places with large volumes of human traffic.
  • The travelator was invented in 1893 by American architect Joseph Lyman Silsbee for the World’s Columbian Exposition held in Chicago. It was created to allow pedestrians to shuttle easily between various locations in the exposition.
