由来

根据市区重建局（Urban Redevelopment Authority）的规划，中央商业区的范围从莱佛士坊（Raffles Place）开始，沿着珊顿道（Shenton Way）、罗敏申路（Robinson Road）及丝丝街（Cecil Street），一直到安顺路（Anson Road）和丹戎巴葛路（Tanjong Pagar Road）一带。
随着滨海湾新市区的开发，中央商业区的东侧界限已延伸至薛尔思道（Sheares Avenue），东北侧则延伸至滨海湾金沙综合娱乐城（Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort）和滨海湾新商业区。
根据市区重建局的规划，中央商业区蜕变成了一个让人们除了工作，也能居住和进行休闲活动的地区。

ETYMOLOGY

According to the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s (URA) Master Plan, the Central Business District (CBD) starts from Raffles Place and extends along Shenton Way, Robinson Road and Cecil Street, before ending at Anson Road and Tanjong Pagar Road.
With the development of the new downtown at Marina Bay, the eastern boundary of the CBD has since extended to Sheares Avenue, while the northeastern boundary has extended to Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort and the new commercial district at Marina Bay.
The URA plans to transform the CBD into a place where people can work, live and play.
