  • 英语 “Central Business District” 的意译。
  • 根据市区重建局（Urban Redevelopment Authority）的规划，中央商业区的范围从莱佛士坊（Raffles Place）开始，沿着珊顿道（Shenton Way）、罗敏申路（Robinson Road）及丝丝街（Cecil Street），一直到安顺路（Anson Road）及丹戎巴葛路（Tanjong Pagar Road）一带。
  • 随着滨海湾新市区的开发，中央商业区的东侧界限已延伸至薛尔思道（Sheares Ave），东北侧则延伸至滨海湾金沙综合娱乐城（Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort）和滨海湾新商业区。

ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “中央商业区” is a paraphrase of the English term “Central Business District”.
  • According to the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s (URA) planning, the Central Business District (CBD) starts from Raffles Place and extends along Shenton Way, Robinson Road, and Cecil Street, before ending at the Anson Road and Tanjong Pagar Road areas.
  • With the development of the new downtown at Marina Bay, the eastern boundary of the CBD has since extended to Sheares Avenue, while the north-eastern boundary is extended to Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort and the new commercial district at Marina Bay.
  • The URA plans to transform the CBD into a place where people can work, live, and relax through recreational activities.
  • The CBD is also a Restricted Zone, and vehicles entering the zone during designated peak hours will have to pay toll charges. The toll scheme was implemented in June 1975.
