名词
指具有独立行使和管理学校事务的权力,获得新加坡政府拨款,而且课程设置与公立的政府学校一致的学校。
Noun
Schools that maintain a certain level of autonomy over how they operate, while receiving funding from the Singapore government and following a similar curriculum offered by government schools.
Government-aided schools may receive funding from the government for purposes such as the building of school facilities. However, in terms of curriculum, they do not differ very much from government schools.
Some Government-aided schools are also autonomous schools. In addition to following the national syllabus, these schools also provide a wider range of programmes to enhance children's learning experience and develop their talents.
Some Government-aided schools are also Special Assistance Plan (SAP) schools that are committed to nurturing bilingual students. Students will have the opportunity to be immersed in Chinese language and culture.
In the next three years, the school fees for non-Singapore citizens attending Government schools and Government-aided schools will increase every year. The monthly increase will be between $25 and $150. (Lianhe Zaobao, 18/10/2017)
