由来
  • 英语 “The Great Singapore Sale” 的意译。
  • 热卖会自 1994 年开始，由新加坡零售商协会（Singapore Retailers Association）和新加坡旅游促进局（Singapore Tourist Promotion Board）联合主办。
  • 原名为 “无限惊喜热卖会”，1996 年才改名为 “新加坡热卖会”。
  • 2019 年改名为 “GSS 新加坡热卖会：体验新加坡”。
  • 2020 年，由于新冠病毒疫情的关系，热卖会改在线上进行，并推迟至九月九日到十月十日，名为 “eGSS: Shop. Win. Experience”。
  • 在每年的六月至八月间举行的热卖会不仅仅是购物节，也是一种零售体验，主要是为了吸引本地人和旅客进行消费。热卖会期间，顾客享有较大的折扣、赠品、抽奖等优惠。
  • 除了购物，热卖会的促销活动还包括用餐、玩乐、探索和生活。
  • 热卖会会在一些文化和历史热点，如乌节路（Orchard Road）、滨海广场（Marina Square）和甘榜格南（Kampong Gelam）等，进行一系列的热卖会活动。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “新加坡热卖会” is a paraphrase of the English term “The Great Singapore Sale”.
  • Since 1994, the Great Singapore Sale has been jointly organised by the Singapore Retailers Association and Singapore Tourist Promotion Board (now known as Singapore Tourism Board).
  • The term “无限惊喜热卖会”, meaning “The Great Sale of Unlimited Surprises”, was initially used to refer to the event in Mandarin. It was renamed to “新加坡热卖会” in 1996.
  • The Great Singapore Sale is usually held annually from June to August.
  • In 2019, it was renamed to GSS: Experience Singapore.
  • In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Great Singapore Sale was held online and the event period was postponed till 9 September to 10 October. It was named eGSS: Shop. Win. Experience.
  • It is not only a shopping event but also a retail experience that is mainly aimed at encouraging consumption among both locals and tourists alike. During the Great Singapore Sale, consumers enjoy benefits such as greater discounts, free gifts, and lucky draws.
  • Besides shopping, the promotional activities of the Great Singapore Sale also include dining, recreation, discovery, and lifestyle options.
  • The Great Singapore Sale also organises activities at key cultural and historical sites, such as Orchard Road, Marina Square and Kampong Glam.
