  • 在新加坡,“重本”的“本”指“成本”。“重本”多用于经济活动。例如一项重大投资,可以说“砸重本”;赌博时下很大赌注,也可以说“下重本”
ETYMOLOGY
  • In the Hokkien dialect, the term “重本” means “a large amount of capital”.
  • In Singapore, the word “本” refers to “cost”. The term “重本” is mostly used to describe financial activities. For example, a large investment can be considered “砸重本”. Betting large amounts while gambling would be described as “下重本”.
