  • “重本”一词,在福建话(闽南话)中指很大的本钱。
  • 在新加坡,重本的“本”指“成本”。“重本”多用于经济活动之中。例如一项重大投资,可以说“砸重本”;赌博时下很大赌注,也可以说“下重本”。
ETYMOLOGY
  • In the Hokkien (Minnan) dialect, the term “重本” means “a large amount of capital”.
  • In Singapore, the character “” refers to “cost”. The term “重本” is mostly used to describe financial activities. For example, a large investment can be considered “砸重本”. Betting large amounts while gambling could also be considered “下重本”.
