由来
  • 行善计划的筹办与实行并不限于特定的组织或团体，凡是与慈善事业有关的项目皆可称为行善计划。
  • 在新加坡的语境下，“行善计划” 一词也可视为 “日行一善计划” 的简称。日行一善计划也称“新加坡行善运动”，是一项鼓励国人更自觉地表现善心、亲切友善待人的计划，旨在建立更优雅的社会。
  • 总体而言，行善计划可分为物质与非物质两类。前者包括捐钱、捐物品、捐食品等，后者则包括陪伴乐龄人士、为他人提供精神和情绪的支柱等。
  • 新加坡大部分的行善组织与团体皆曾与新加坡教育部（Ministry of Education）、国家环境局（National Environment Agency）、资讯通信媒体发展局（Infocomm Media Development Authority）等多个政府机构合作，推出多个行善计划。

ETYMOLOGY
  • The planning and execution of Kindness Campaigns are not limited to specific organisations or groups, and can include all activities that are charity-related. 
  • In Singapore’s context, the Mandarin term “行善计划” (Kindness Campaign) is also as an abbreviation of “日行一善计划”, which is also known in Mandarin as “新加坡行善运动”. It is a campaign that encourages acts of kindness and courtesy to create a gracious society. 
  • Kindness Campaigns can be split into two broad categories, tangible and intangible acts. Acts that fall under the former category include donating money, items, and food products; acts that fall under the latter category include accompanying senior citizens and acting as providing psychological and emotional support for others. 
  • Most charity organisations and groups in Singapore have collaborated with government agencies including the Ministry of Education, National Environment Agency, and Infocomm Media Development Authority in implementing various Kindness Campaigns. 
  • Grand Copthorne Waterfront launched a year-long Kindness Campaign in May 2013 that aims to raise charity funds for the Seed Kindness Fund. 
  • Values in Action programmes in schools could also be seen as a type of Kindness Campaign. Students can either plan and implement charity projects alone or with their peers, or take part in charity programmes organised by their schools. Some local educational institutions have also made use of Kindness Campaigns to encourage their students to take initiative and inculcate the right moral values in them.
