Noun

A foot massaging walkway covered with cobblestones. Also known in Mandarin as “脚底按摩健身小径”“脚底反射区按摩径道” or “脚底按摩走道”.

由来
  • 脚底按摩径也称鹅卵石走道、鹅卵石健康步道、健康步道、健身小径、脚底按摩健身小径、脚底反射区按摩径道、脚底按摩小径、脚底按摩石径,以及脚底按摩走道。
  • 脚底按摩径由鄒進福博士发明,于 20 世纪末开始在台湾盛行, 后传遍国际。
  • 据说在脚底按摩径上行走可以按摩脚底达到促进血液循环、医治疾病的效果。然而,目前这些效果在中西医领域中一般无理论或科学基础。
  • 在武吉巴督(Bukit Batok)部分组屋区于 1996 至 1999 年间进行的翻新计划中,脚底按摩径首次被列入新设施的名单中。
  • 如今,脚底按摩径已普遍设在大部分组屋区的公共设施中。
ETYMOLOGY
  • Reflexology paths were invented by Dr. Zou Jin Fu. It became popular in Taiwan towards the late 20th century and spread to the world thereafter.
  • It is said that walking on a reflexology path can promote blood circulation and cure diseases by massaging the feet. However, at present these effects have no theoretical or scientific basis in both Chinese and Western medicine.
  • Reflexology paths were first included in the list of new facilities in an upgrading programme, that was implemented in part of a Housing and Development Board (HDB) estate in Bukit Batok between 1996 and 1999.
  • Today, reflexology path is a common public facility found in most HDB estates.
