• In 1997, the Ministry of Education introduced school clusters to provide schools with greater autonomy and encourage them to be more creative in making educational decisions. 

• School clusters are mainly divided according to their geographical locations (North, South, East, West). A school cluster has about a dozen schools, which include primary and secondary schools, as well as junior colleges. 

• Each cluster is facilitated by the Cluster Superintendent, whose aim is to enhance collaboration and the sharing of financial resources among the member schools. 

• In addition to submitting updates on the school cluster to principals within the cluster, the Cluster Superintendent also provides principals with suggestions and support when necessary.

The well-equipped research building consists of three storeys with up to ten different laboratories, including a biotechnology and microbial cultivation laboratory, as well as an environmental science and virtual reality laboratory available to the 87 schools in West Zone school cluster for use.
