Noun

One of the cabinet positions held by a former Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister, that plays the role of supporting the current Prime Minister.

由来
  • “资政”一词的“资”含有资历的意思。
  • 1985 年，当时的副总理拉惹勒南（Sinnathamby Rajaratnam）从副总理一职离任后，获授总理公署（Prime Minister’s Office）高级部长（英文职衔名称同为 Senior Minister）一职。
  • 建国总理李光耀于 1990 年辞任总理一职后，也获授总理公署高级部长一职。1997 年，总理公署高级部长一职的华文名称改为“内阁资政”。
  • 2004 年，时任总理吴作栋卸下总理一职后，内阁资政一职的华文名称再度修改为“国务资政”。吴作栋在卸任总理一职后即转任国务资政。
  • 2011 年，李显龙总理委任吴作栋为荣誉国务资政（Emeritus Senior Minister），肯定他对于新加坡的贡献及人民对他的爱戴与尊敬。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The character “资” in “资政” entails seniority and experience.
  • In 1985, after then Deputy Prime Minister Sinnathamby Rajaratnam stepped down from the post of Deputy Prime Minister, he was appointed Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, then known in Mandarin as “总理公署高级部长”.
  • After founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew stepped down from office in 1990, he was also appointed Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office. In 1997, the Mandarin designation of Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office was changed to “内阁资政”.
  • In 2004, after the then Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong stepped down from office, the Mandarin designation of Senior Minister was again changed to “国务资政”. Goh Chok Tong became Senior Minister immediately after stepping down as Prime Minister.
  • In 2011, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong appointed Goh Chok Tong as Emeritus Senior Minister in recognition of his contribution to Singapore and the people’s love and respect for him.
