• The Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) was registered on 12 December 1985 under the joint sponsorship of Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan, Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan, Singapore Kwangtung Hui Kuan, Nanyang Hakka Federation, The Singapore Hainan Hwee Kuan, Sam Kiang Huay Kwan, and Singapore Foochow Association.
• Starting with just 70 members, SFCCA’s first office was located on the second floor of the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Building at Telok Ayer Street. In 1997, it relocated to its current premises in Toa Payoh. SFCCA now boasts a membership of 250.
• SFCCA’s primary objectives are to strengthen cooperation among Chinese clan associations, organise and support educational, cultural and community activities, and promote the understanding and appreciation of Chinese language, culture and values.
• SFCCA remains steadfast in driving the development of the Chinese community by initiating the establishment of key organisations, including the Chinese Development Assistance Council (co-founded with the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry) and Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. Through organising significant events such as the River Hongbao and National Day Sing-along, SFCCA is committed to preserving cultural heritage and fostering community cohesion.
• In 2011, SFCCA invited Mr Lee Hsien Loong, then Prime Minister, to be its inaugural patron. In 2024, Mr Lawrence Wong, current Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, succeeded him as the Federation’s second patron.

The Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations and the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre jointly launched the inaugural online edition of the “National Day Sing-along”, inviting everyone to join in celebrating Singapore’s birthday by singing from the comfort of their homes.
