• In this multilingual environment, Singaporean Mandarin combines the vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and other features of English, Malay, Chinese dialects and other languages used locally.
• Therefore, Singaporean Mandarin is a part of Singaporean culture and a symbol of Singaporean Chinese identity.
• Singapore’s bilingual education policy has promoted the interaction of languages, which indirectly stimulated the formation of Singaporean Mandarin.
