An order issued by a law enforcement unit, such as the courts or the police, requiring a person to testify in court.

由来
  • 新加坡的法庭规定，若接获传召通知，当事人必须在规定的日期与时间出庭作证。在某些情况下，当事人也必须提供与案件有关的文件。
  • 若在正常的情况下 (即无特殊理由) 没有履行传召，当事人可被控藐视法庭，并且面临罚款或监禁。

ETYMOLOGY
  • Under Singapore law, a person who receives a subpoena must attend court at a specific date and time. In some cases, the person must produce documents related to the case.
  • Failure to respond to a subpoena without a valid reason may result in the person being charged with contempt of court, as well as being fined or jailed.
