  • 在 1966 年和 1967 年之间,已故的林明发和制龙师傅梁宣华钻研出夜光龙。
  • 夜光龙必须涂上夜光漆,之后由全身黑衣黑裤的舞者配合着舞步来控制。
  • 1967 年,公众第一次在繁华世界体育馆(Gay World Stadium)内观赏到夜光龙的表演。
  • 从此之后,夜光龙扬名四海,从新加坡传到国外多个国家,如马来西亚、菲律宾、印尼和中国等。
ETYMOLOGY
  • Between 1966 and 1967, the late Lim Meng Huat and dragon dance prop maker Leong Shin Wah created the “luminous dragon”.
  • To be luminous, the dragon has to be painted with glowing paint, then manoeuvred by dancers dressed completely in black according to choreography.
  • In 1967, the public watched the luminous dragon dance performance for the first time at Gay World Stadium.
  • Since then, the luminous dragon dance has become known far and wide, spreading from Singapore to many countries such as Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and China.
