  • 英语 “zero-sum” 的意译。
  • “零和”（zero-sum）的概念源自博弈论，它提出在某些情况下，如果一方获益，就会被另一方相等的损失抵补。因此，各方的收益和损失将永远平衡为 “零”。 
  • “零和” 是 “双赢” 的反义词。
  • “零和” 一词也经常用于政治中，指两个国家对立的僵硬态度。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “零和” is a paraphrase of the English term “zero-sum”.
  • The concept of zero-sum originates from game theory, which suggests that in certain situations, if one side gains, it will be balanced by an equal loss on the other side. As a result, the sum of the gains and losses across all sides will thus always balance out to zero.
  • “Zero-sum” (“零和”) is the antonym of “win-win” (“双赢”).
  • The term “零和” is also used in politics to refer to the inflexible stances of two opposing countries.
