  • 这类长至膝盖的裤子在20世纪初期盛行，当时英国官员被派到热带国家，因为炎热的天气，便将卡其裤剪短。一些驻扎在百慕达的英国人员则请岛上的裁缝师把他们的长裤修短。百慕达岛上的裁缝师将这些修短的裤子售卖给当地人，百慕达裤很快成为岛上的标志，因而得名。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “百慕达裤” is a combination of the transliteration and paraphrase of the English term “bermuda shorts”.
  • This style of knee-length shorts was popular in the early 20th century. At that time, when British officials were sent to tropical countries, they cut their khaki trousers short. Some British staff stationed in Bermuda asked the local tailors to shorten their trousers. The tailors went on to make more shorts in this style and sold them to the locals. These shorts quickly became a symbol of the island and hence came to be known as “bermuda shorts”.
