棺材的别称。

由来
  • 在华族的避讳文化中，人们对 “死” 这个字较忌讳，因此会使用不同的词语来代替，例如 “老了”、“去世”、“谢世”、“百年” 及 “过世” 等等。
  • 同样的，“寿板” 一词中的 “寿” 也是对死亡的一种婉转的说法，可以用来形容和死者相关的物品。例如，棺材称为 “寿板” 或 “寿材”、为死去的人准备的衣服称为 “寿衣”、坟墓称作 “寿坟” 等。
  • “板” 和 “材” 的意思相通，在新加坡则主要使用 “寿板” 一词。
