ETYMOLOGY
  • 清道夫” is a classical Chinese term. In olden days it referred to people whose duty was to clear the paths and drive away pedestrians to make way for emperors or officials when they were out in the public. Today, it is used to refer to workers who clean the streets.
  • Sweepers in soccer games and a kind of fish that eats up waste in a fish tank are also known as “清道夫”.
