  • The Peranakan Museum is a department of the Asian Civilisations Museum and is managed by the National Heritage Board.
  • The Peranakan Museum is currently located at 39 Armenian Street, in the former Tao Nan School Building that was built in 1912. It was formerly the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM). As the exhibits of Peranakan culture at ACM were particularly popular, the building was repurposed as the Peranakan Museum after ACM moved to its current premises in Empress Place Building.
  • On 26 April 2008, the Peranakan Museum was officially opened to the public.
  • On 1 April 2019, the Peranakan Museum was temporarily closed for large-scale renovations, and it was reopened on 17 February 2023. The refreshed Peranakan Museum has nine galleries across three floors, which are divided into three main themes of “Origins”, “Home” and “Style”.
