  • 源自广东话 daipou。

ETYMOLOGY
  • The term “抵步” originated from daipou in Cantonese.
  • “抵” means to reach or to arrive, while “步” refers to “地步” or “境地”, meaning a state or a situation.

 

例句
女送餐员抵步后被挡在公寓门外，只好把三盒甜品放在保安亭的桌上，但保安被指把食物丢在草地上，也不允许她拎起食物放回桌子，甚至报警处理，气得她拍下保安视频。（《联合晚报》， 5/6/2020）
SAMPLE SENTENCE
The female food delivery person was denied entry when she arrived at the condominium. She thus had to leave three boxes of dessert on the security post’s table. However, the security guard was alleged to have dumped the food on the grass, forbade her from picking it up, and even called the police.
