  • 英语 “showflat” 的意译。
  • 1991 年，建屋发展局（Housing and Development Board，简称建屋局）首次与宜家（IKEA）合作，向公众展示一种可行的室内装潢设计，为他们提供一些布置新居的灵感。在此之前，建屋局主要采用手册和空屋向民众介绍房子。
  • 2020 年，在新型冠状病毒疫情的影响下，为了符合阻断措施（Circuit Breaker）及保持安全距离政策，多数示范单位展场皆被强制关闭。在这种情况下，许多发展商转而利用网络平台为民众进行虚拟浏览与解答。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “示范单位” is a paraphrase of the English term “showflat”.
  • In 1991, the Housing and Development Board (HDB) collaborated with IKEA for the first time to showcase viable interior designs to the public, to provide inspiration for furnishing new homes. Prior to this, the HDB showcased flats to the public mainly through brochures and vacant units.
  • In 2020, due to COVID-19, most showflats were forced to be closed to comply with the circuit breaker and safe distancing measures. As a result, many developers turned to online platforms to offer virtual browsing of showflats and answer enquiries.
