ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “中央托收公司” is a paraphrase of the English term “The Central Depository” (CDP).
  • CDP was set up in 1987 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Singapore Exchange (SGX).
  • CDP mainly provides depository, clearing and settlement services for related products on the SGX markets.
  • Related products include shares, preferred stocks, SGX-traded funds, funds, unit trusts, and Singapore Government Securities bonds.
  • Since 1 February 2021, Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents can check their CDP portfolios and fund information using SingPass.
