  • “桥头”在福建话里是指桥墩周围的土地，“乌桥头”则是福建话 orh kio tau，即“黑桥头”的意思。
  • 有说法认为“乌桥”指的是立达路原有的一座黑色铁桥。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Hokkien term “桥头” (kio tau) refers to the land around the pier of a bridge, while “乌桥头” (orh kio tau) means “black pier”.
  • It is believed that this is a reference to a black iron bridge that used to be at Delta Road
