驳船码头（Boat Quay）的俗称，靠近如今的沙球朥路（Circular Road）一带。

由来
  • 源自福建话或潮州话 chap poet keng。
  • 有说法认为驳船码头边早年有 18 间店屋，因此有 “十八间” 的代称。
  • 除了 “十八间“，驳船码头也俗称为 “十三行”、“吊船码头”、“水厝尾”，以及 “十八溪墘”。当中，“十八溪墘” 之称较为常用，而 “溪墘” 在福建话和潮州话中指 “河边”。
例句
北岸是政府行政区，俗称 "海关前"，有政府大厦等建筑物；南岸则是商业区，俗称 "十八溪墘" 或 "十八间"，据说因当年有十八间商行所得名。（《联合早报》，24/8/2015）
