ETYMOLOGY
  • In Singapore, the title awarded to a  “视后” (literally “Queen of Television”) at an award ceremony is usually called “Best Actress”.
  • The Best Actress award was first created at the Singapore’s second Star Awards held in 1995.
  • The winner of the award is decided by a panel comprising members from the film industry, acting profession and television industry, who vote based on the performance of actresses in television dramas.
  • Actors who have been crowned “视后” at the Star Awards multiple times include Zoe Tay, Ivy Lee and Joanne Peh.
