ETYMOLOGY
  • It is believed that there are three possible origins for the curry puff: The first is that it originated from the British Cornish Pasty of the 1800s, another is that it came from the Portuguese Empanada, and the third is that it came from the Indian Samosa.
  • The outer skin of a curry puff is usually made from pure flour and butter, and the filling varies according to personal preference or the different recipes used by stores. However, its key ingredients include curry, potatoes, diced meat and boiled eggs.
