  • 新加坡是个繁忙的都市，要让新加坡的交通更加顺畅，高架公路扮演着重要的角色。1970年，本地首座高架公路建成，主要通往克里门梭道 （Clemenceau Avenue）。接下来几年，路陆交通管理局（Land Transport Authority, LTA）陆续建设了几座高架公路，舒缓车流量。
  • 1990年起，当局规定为所有的高架公路命名，方便公路使用者辨别所在的地点。
  • 除了作为重要的交通道路，大部分的高架公路底下也是摩托车骑士的避雨之处。这能让他们在下雨时远离高速公路，避免意外的发生。
ETYMOLOGY
  • To ensure smooth traffic flow in the bustling city of Singapore, flyovers played a crucial role. In 1970, the first flyover leading to Clemenceau Ave was completed. In the years that followed, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) progressively built more flyovers, which helped to ease traffic.
  • LTA started naming the flyovers from 1990, so that road users can better differentiate the routes.
  • In addition to being important transport routes, the spaces beneath most flyovers also serve as rain shelters for motorcyclists. These spaces provide refuge for motorcyclists during rainy weather and help to prevent accidents on the expressways.
