由来
  • 哈芝节主要是纪念预言者伊布拉欣（Prophet Ibrahim）牺牲自己儿子伊斯迈（Ismail）做为上苍阿拉的供奉品。其实阿拉并没有真的要伊布拉欣牺牲他的孩子，只是要考验他对阿拉的忠诚。阿拉最后给了伊布拉欣一头羊以取代儿子做为牺牲品。
  • 哈芝节在伊斯兰历第12个月的第十天，在这一天，回教徒会举行宰牲仪式（Korban），将羊肉分享给家人朋友，也分给较贫困的家庭。
ETYMOLOGY
  • Hari Raya Haji commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail to Allah. Allah did not actually want Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his child, but wanted to test his loyalty instead. In the end, Allah provided Prophet Ibrahim with a sheep to substitute as a sacrifice.
  • Hari Raya Haji falls on the 10th day of the 12th month of the Islamic calendar. On this day, Muslims observe the Korban, a ceremony which involves the sacrifice of livestock, and the meat is shared with their families and friends, as well as the poor and the needy.
