由来
  • 英语“heartware”的意译。
  • 时任新加坡总理吴作栋在1997年的国庆献词中，指出一个国家不仅需要经济繁荣和具备相关基础设施的“硬件”(hard-ware)，国人 更需要有对国家社会的归属感，培养出共同的“心件”(heartware)。
  • “心件”的重点在于通过志愿服务和创新想法来回馈社会，并以此建设一个更有凝聚力、更美好的新加坡。这一愿景也奠定了民间慈善组织“心件工程”(Heartware Network)的创立宗旨。
  • “心件工程”创立于2000年，主席兼创办人黄德宇组织这一青年慈善机构的目的是启发青少年的善心，向他们灌输良好的价值观并培养他们的品格和技能，希望以此增强社会凝聚力。
  • “心件工程”举办的慈善活动一般可分为青年发展、青年领导及青年创业三种，旨在团结新一代新加坡人向社区里的弱势群体伸出援手。这是为了培养青年无条件地帮助他人并从而建立真诚友谊的精神。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “心件” is a paraphrase of the English term “heartware”.
  • In 1997, then Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong highlighted in his National Day Rally speech that a country not only requires the “hardware” of economic prosperity and the required infrastructure, but also has to cultivate a shared “heartware” that gives its people a sense of belonging.
  • Heartware focuses on giving back to society through volunteerism and innovative ideas to build a more cohesive and better Singapore. This vision motivated the founding of Heartware Network, a community charity organisation, in 2000.
  • The organisation’s chairman and founder Raymond Huang expressed hopes that the youth charity organisation would be able to enhance social cohesion through inspiring a spirit of kindness among youths and instilling in them good values, character and skills.
  • Heartware Network’s charitable activities are centred on youth development, youth leadership and youth entrepreneurship, with the purpose of bringing together young Singaporeans to help the vulnerable in the community, in order to cultivate in them a desire to help others unconditionally, thereby forging genuine friendships.
