  • 塑胶袋一般用于装载购物品。
  • 为响应环保，新加坡一般使用的塑胶袋皆为可再循环使用 (recyclable) 或可进行生物分解 (biodegradable) 的材质。
  • 然而，无论使用什么材料制成，购物袋在制造、运输及废弃的过程中，都会对环境造成负担。
  • 根据一项2018年的调查，新加坡人每年从超级市场拿取了八亿多个塑胶袋，然而其中只有2%被再循环。
  • 为减少一次性用品如塑胶袋的使用，国家环境局从2023年七月起规定大部分超级市场必须向消费者征收一次性购物袋的费用。
ETYMOLOGY
  • Plastic bags are generally used for carrying shopping items.
  • Due to concerns about environmental impact, plastic bags are usually made of recyclable or biodegradable materials in Singapore.
  • However, regardless of the material used, carrier bags still negatively affect the environment during production, transportation and disposal.
  • A 2018 survey estimated that Singaporeans took 820 million plastic bags from supermarkets every year, but only 2% of the plastic bags were recycled.
  • To reduce the use of disposable items like plastic bags, the National Environment Agency mandated a disposable carrier bag charge for most supermarkets from July 2023.
