ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “大学先修班” is a paraphrase of the English term “Pre-University education”.
  • Students who sit for the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O-Level) examinations, can apply to enrol in a two-year junior college or three-year centralised institute after receiving their results.
  • Pre-University Education courses mainly focuses on three areas:
  1. Life skills, such as co-curriculum activities.
  2. Knowledge skills, such as General Paper.
  3. Subject disciplines, such as Languages, Humanities, or Arts.
  • In the final year of the programme, students will sit for the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A-Level) examinations, to enter their preferred university.
