准备进入大学前的教育课程，时长通常在两年（初级学院）至三年（高级中学）之间。

由来
  • 英语 “pre-university” 的意译。
  • 参加新加坡剑桥普通教育证书（普通水准）（Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Examination（Ordinary Level），简称 O 水准）会考的学生可以在取得成绩之后申请进入两年制的初级学院（Junior College）或三年制的高级中学（Centralised Institute）。
  • 大学先修班的课程主要侧重于三个领域：
  1. 生活技能（Life skills），如课外活动（Co- Curriculum Activities）；
  2. 知识技能（Knowledge skills）；如英文理解与写作（General Paper）；
  3. 学科（Subject disciplines），如语言（Languages）、人文（Humanities）或艺术（Arts）
  • 在课程的最后一年，学生们通过参加新加坡剑桥普通教育证书（高级水准）（Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education （Advanced Level），简称 A 水准）会考来考入理想的大学。
