由来
  • 有说法认为印度蒸米粉源自于印度南部。印度蒸米粉的英文名称为 “putu mayam”。
  • 印度蒸米粉的做法是将粘米粉面糊塞入特定的模具,然后再将面糊挤压到盖上了白布的竹箩上,形成一条条的细米粉,并将之压平后放入蒸笼蒸熟。
  • 除了搭配红糖、椰糖或椰丝,印度蒸米粉也可蘸咖喱或其他印度特色酱料食用。
  • 本地早期的印度蒸米粉是搭配切成小块的椰糖食用,但如今一般则佐以粗粒的白砂糖或红糖食用。
ETYMOLOGY
  • It is believed that Indian steamed rice vermicelli originated from southern India. The English name for this delicacy is “putu mayam”.
  • Putu mayam is made by putting rice flour batter into a special mold and squeezing it onto a bamboo basket covered with white cloth to form thin strands of rice vermicelli, which is then flattened and steamed in a steamer.
  • In addition to consuming with brown sugar, palm sugar or shredded coconut, putu mayam can also be dipped in curry or other Indian specialty sauces.
  • In the early days, putu mayam was eaten with small pieces of palm sugar, but it is now usually eaten with coarse white sugar or brown sugar.
