  • 自助邮务机于1997年正式推出。
  • 第一台自助邮务机设于基里尼路 (Killiney Road) 的邮政局外，为大众提供24小时的服务。
  • 消费者也可使用电子付费的方式购买邮票。自助邮务机还能为消费者称量两公斤以下的信件或包裹的重量，同时计算邮费。
  • 除了邮政服务，公众也可通过自助邮务机缴交电话费、水电费、医药费等。
  • 到了2024年，新加坡全岛已经设有超过200台自助邮务机。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “自助邮务机” is a paraphrase of the English term “Self-service Automated Machine”.
  • The Self-service Automated Machine (SAM) was officially rolled out in 1997.
  • The first SAM was installed outside the post office at Killiney Road, providing 24-hour service to the public.
  • SAMs can be used to buy stamps, and can also weigh letters or parcels under 2 kg to calculate postage costs.
  • Besides postal services, SAMs can also be used to pay telephone bills, utility bills and medical bills.
  • By 2024, Singapore had more than 200 SAMs installed across the island.
