由来
  • 英语 “studio apartment” 的意译。
  • 1977 年，政府首次推出小型公寓。第一批小型公寓兴建于彰思礼巷（Chancery lane）。
  • 小型公寓初期的数量并不多。例如，1983 至 1986 年之间所兴建的 5,630 个房屋单位中，小型公寓仅占其中的 91 个。
  • 尽管如此，小型公寓的需求仍居高不下。这其中的原因就包括以下几点：
  1. 价格实惠；
  2. 单身人士因条例限制无法购买政府组屋，从而考虑购买小型公寓；
  3. 可用于投资用途；
  4. 较小的面积让环境打理变得更方便；
  5. 可用做员工宿舍
  • 初期的小型公寓处于较偏远的地段，但随着近年来的发展，小型公寓的地点越好，设备越加完善，附近的交通设施也更方便。有许多投资者因此看准商机，购买小型公寓并将其出租。
